On the church pew, around the coffee table, in the middle of the greenery - for us, faith works best together!
We want to share not only our beliefs and values, but also our lives. We do this in our church services, as families or as couples. And sometimes the women and the men are among themselves.

Experiencing Community
Children playing in the sandpit, young people playing sports together, families arranging to go on picnics together, visits to the hospital, a phone call, conversations over the garden fence, Christians crying with their grieving friends and praying with those who are worried: they all cultivate community.
People need people. “It is not good for man to be alone,” says the Bible’s creation account. Man is a social being. That is why associations, clubs, interest groups and street festivals are justified.
But they also have their limits: the witty person entertains the company with quick wit. In fact, he tries to cover up his inner loneliness. – For many years, the married couples who were friends visited each other. When one of them dies, the friendship falls apart. – Often enough, the single person spends his free time alone. The invitation from friends is therefore welcome. But in the circle of married couples, he or she does not really feel like he or she belongs.
Community is God’s will. God wants to be there. With his presence, he adds another dimension to our community and breaks down the boundaries. John, a follower of Jesus, writes:
“What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you, so that you may be united in community with us. And the fellowship that binds us together is at the same time fellowship with the Father and with Jesus Christ, his Son.” (1 John 1:3,4 GNB)
The two friends, who spoke to each other on the way from Jerusalem to Emmaus, found it helpful to express their disappointment. But their commonality reached its limits and did not solve the problems. Only when the Risen One joined them unrecognized and expanded their community did light come into their darkness – like a veil that lay before their eyes and was now pulled aside.
People need people. The deepest community is found among people who have expanded their community and have learned to love and appreciate Christ.
